The Majestics

From the soul of a city steeped in history, a new voice was born in 1956

—the Jubilee Majestic Concert Choir. It wasn't just a group; it was a movement. Fueled by a handful of young people who saw music as a sacred bridge, they set out to share their divine gift beyond the hallowed halls of their church. Their purpose was simple, yet profound: to use the power of song to carry the greatest treasure of all—the Gospel of Jesus Christ—and bring souls into the light.

The early days were filled with unbridled passion, and their sound, a mix of pure harmony and heartfelt devotion, quickly resonated with the community. Their fame wasn’t built on flash or fanfare, but on authenticity. They sang for the forgotten, the sick, and the shut-in, their voices echoing through the sterile halls of hospitals and the quiet corners of nursing homes. They brought hope to those behind prison walls and comfort to weary souls in schools and on the airwaves of local radio stations.

As the years passed, their ministry grew, taking them on a journey far beyond Washington, D.C. They became ambassadors of praise, their music a universal language that transcended borders and cultures. From the sun-drenched beaches of the Bahamas to the ancient streets of Naples and Rome, they carried their message of love and salvation.

The Majestics’ legacy is a tapestry woven with incredible moments. They’ve graced the stage at momentous occasions, from the annual Interfaith Conference to Broadway musicals and political rallies. They were the first gospel choir to perform at the National Education Association's annual convention, and their voices ushered in a new era at the opening of the first Washington Convention Center. They didn’t seek the spotlight for themselves, but rather to illuminate the path for others.

Through their **Majestics Care** program, established in 1989, they turned their songs into tangible acts of kindness. They are a family who not only sings together but serves together, a brotherhood and sisterhood dedicated to lifting up the "least, the lost, and the less fortunate." Their ministry extends far beyond the stage, offering financial aid, donating goods, and providing resources for Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, all while partnering with other charitable organizations to magnify their impact.

Now, with their **70th Anniversary** on the horizon in 2026, the Jubilee Majestic Concert Choir stands as a testament to the enduring power of faith, community, and song. They are more than just an interdenominational choir; they are a beacon of light in a world that so desperately needs it. Their motto echoes their unwavering dedication: **One Choir. One Vision. One Leader.** Their story is a living testament to how a group of young people, united by a shared passion, can create a legacy that resonates through generations.
